We have lived in Europe for many years, our children have been born in Europe and we have made a great move to Sri Lanka.

The answer I can not put in one or two words but its “For a better life style” good private schools, good private medical care, with no waiting list, you see a doctor when you want, either traditional or Ayurvedic local medicine, safe and moral society, financial benefits, cost effective housing, deeds, legal papers and government forms are printed in English, Sinhala and Tamil. This is a great plus as you can do and understand most of the procedures yourself.
Staff to help you do the chores you do not like (washing, ironing, cleaning) and not the least the climate! You can swim in your own pool 365 days of the year and not once will you come out feeling cold. The sunshine’s everyday and the list of things you can do are endless; we still after many years have not completed our “things to do list”. The basic everyday living is still relatively cheap, with no real variation in temperature, no huge heating cost or the dark wet cold climate that makes you want to go to bed early and not wanting to get up the next morning.
